Australian Billionaire Backs MDMA Development
Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest has announced plans to further back clinical biotechnology company Emyria (ASX:EMD) through his new $250M venture fund.
Previously, Mr. Forrest completed an initial investment of $5M into Emyria, which is advancing an MDMA clinical trial for PTSD and developing a variety of MDMA analogues in collaboration with the University of Western Australia.
The US FDA is expected to rule on an application for MDMA-assisted therapy in 2023, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report.

Galaxy Digital (TSX:GLXY) announced they will continue to pursue their NASDAQ listing despite their key acquisition of BitGo falling through.
Bright Green Corp. (NASDAQ:BGXX) has become the focus of significant controversy for claiming to have a partnership with the DEA, which has yet to be confirmed or validated by the DEA themselves. The company reported zero revenue and a net loss of $19.8M USD in their most recent quarter. Shares of BGXX are down over 95% since being listed in May 2022.
